Summer’s officially here, which means the RANGE crew is heading back to Denver for Outdoor Retailer Summer Market 2018. From July 23 to July 25, 2018, we’ll be hosting a number of panels and activations in the Venture Out section of the trade show at The RANGER Station (Booth VO358-SL), so stop by to check out what we have going on, say hello and don’t forget to pick up a copy of RANGE Magazine Issue Nine while you’re there!

Day One – Monday, July 23, 2018

Food to Fiber
Time: 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

What’s Happening: The disconnect between food and fiber is real. They are both agricultural products, but people tend to forget that. There is a real opportunity for outdoor brands to source wool, leather and food from regenerative agriculture, and this panel discussion will provide resources and recommendations through the Savory institute lens.

Paraclimbing: The Other Climbing Discipline

What’s Happening: An interactive Workshop on climbing accessibility for people with disabilities featuring USA Climbing National, and International Federation Sport Climbing champions. Climbing is as diverse as its participants. Hear the stories of pro-athletes from Asia, Africa, and America that are very different, but all share one thing in common. Our world defines them as people with disabilities. But their accomplishments are out of this world. Also learn how to best to welcome climbers with disabilities on to your trail and training facilities. How should you set routes? What’s the language, how to guide a person who is visually impaired?

We’ll provide tips and resources for battling our obsession with plastic as we hear from brands and organizations working towards educating and empowering people to beat plastic pollution.

This panel, moderated by The Wilderness Society, will unpack the cultural changes we need to reinforce the policy and politics of change. Filmmakers, storytellers, brands and policy nerds join together to discuss how we are changing the culture of activism within our community, and stay after the panel for happy hour.
