In keeping with our tradition of mixing up mediums, we are excited to announce our first-ever group art show. Curated by RANGE and presented by our friends from Subaru, The Open Pass is the abstract expanse that exists between our urban and outdoor identities. It is the intersection of adventure and design, where flora and fauna meet brick and mortar. The Open Pass redefines what it means to draw inspiration from nature by gathering visionaries who believe the arts and the environment go hand in hand.
It is a place of flexibility and freedom. A space between moments. A destination for experimentation, where we celebrate imperfect landscapes and conceptual perspectives. It’s where we go to get lost. It is an opportunity to escape the hectic pace of daily life and embrace the profound beauty of being outdoors.
Inspired by the Subaru lifestyle, artists selected for The Open Pass bring a distinct voice to the global creative community. Each piece is a dimensional reflection of their personal and professional journeys, in the studio, outside and on the road. In preparation for the group show, featured artists, including Heather Day, Jay Nelson, Mikael Kennedy and Jeff Thrope, field tested a 2017 Subaru Impreza during their artistic processes to drive creativity for their original works. We will be sharing in-studio interviews, videos and photo essays in a “Meet an Owner” series documenting their experiences over the coming weeks, so stay tuned for updates and follow along with us on Instagram at #TheOpenPass.
If you are in L.A., stop by and check out the show IRL! The Open Pass will be OPEN TO THE PUBLIC from June 17 to June 20, 2017 at Alldayeveryday in the Arts District of DTLA.
