Filson has a rich history of making tough and comfortable clothing for the outdoorsman, which eventually also included the outdoorswoman, since 1897, particularly aimed at hunters, explorers, mariners and miners. While we’re not crazy about hunting here at RANGE, we do appreciate when a brand returns to its roots like Filson has done with their new series of three field guides. They just released their first guide to duck hunting on the Skagit County coastline in Washington State, a unique area of the country that is home to deserts and plains, coastal tidelands and the only temperate rainforest in the United States.
The folks over at Filson and their adorable hunting dog hit the road in the new AEV Filson Edition Wrangler, traveling three hours from their headquarters in Seattle, and sporting Filson goods for their hunting expedition. They documented their outing in this first field guide, including everything from grabbing the right gear for a successful duck hunting trip to the essential pit stops you’ll need to make to and from your hunting site. The two additional field guides of the series will be released on Mondays in the coming weeks, so look out for more information on how to up your outdoors and sportsman knowledge on the Filson Life blog.
