Hipcamp has finally set its stake in the Northeastern United States and to celebrate, they hosted their second “Under The Stars” campout, this time in Ghent, New York at the beautiful Meadowgreens campground, a vast property that’s part of a golf course and boasts stunning views of the Catskills and Berkshires. We rounded up the NYC RANGE crew, packed up the car, and left dreary, rainy Brooklyn behind to join 200 others for an epic night in the woods, but first, we stopped in Beacon along the way for some burgers and brews.
When we arrived at the campground, we were absolutely in awe of the sweet sunshine and happy faces that welcomed us. At check-in, we were generously equipped with essentials: tents from The North Face and camp cups from Miir, and then we headed to set up camp and explore before happy hour and dinner, a delicious feast prepared by Catskill Mill Food Truck, which we enjoyed at a long, family-style farm table.
We broke bread and got to know one another, taking in the Hudson Valley through dishes made of local, sustainable ingredients, and as the sun set, campfires were lit and cups were refilled. The super talented musical guests Woods and Caveman took the stage, and the setup was perfect, forest background, twinkly lights and all. Soon after the music and chatter died down, we all curled up into our tents for a little shut-eye.
After a night of snoozing under the stars, Blue Bottle held an aeropress demo where we each got to make our own cup of joe to get that morning caffeine fix in, and those who felt the need to stretch out their tent-bent bodies before a granola breakfast could partake in a morning yoga session. It was the perfect way to end the trip.
The weekend was filled with posi vibes, awesome people and fantastic weather, making the Northeast “Under The Stars” one for the books. HUGE thanks to Hipcamp for hosting us, and to their partners The North Face and Culture Collide. We were stoked to be a part of such a groundbreaking event!
