Alite Designs, a San Francisco-based outdoor gear company, recently opened the doors to its new retail space, “The Outpost,” in SF’s Mission District. More than just a retail store that sells functional outdoor products, The Outpost is a space that inspires San Francisco’s deeply rooted outdoor community to gather together and plan exciting new adventures.
The store is incredibly welcoming by design, incorporating cabin-like architectural elements, such as exposed wooden rafters, bright skylights and a camp badge-inspired storefront sign. The Outpost’s interior offers several community spaces, including a gallery of work by local artists, a café serving up Tiny Warrior Coffee, and an outdoor reference center that features two computer research stations and multiple guidebooks.
SF’s outdoor community can visit The Outpost to shop a variety of products from creative, emerging brands, or hang out in the reference center to map out a California backpacking trip over iced Moroccan coffee. The possibilities are endless!
