One of our favorite brands that combines fashion with function, AETHER, continues to expand with the recent opening of their new flagship store in Los Angeles, just in time for the holiday season. Located in the heart of the La Brea design district, AETHERla is housed in a 4,000-square foot space, which was designed in collaboration with Paris-based art director Thierry Gaugain, who has worked on three other retail spaces for the brand: AETHERstream, AETHERsf and AETHERnyc.
Gaugain added some unique elements to AETHERla, including a 13-foot by 13-foot wood cabana where customers can test out their prospective cold weather purchases in a walk-in freezer, and make sure they’ve got the right fit in dressing rooms. He also used 45 custom-made wood crates outfitted with a white laminate interior and LED lights and a 14 by 8-foot custom-made metal riveted table to display products. To give the space more of an open feeling, Gaugain installed massive glass garage doors at the entrance.
AETHER’s entire collection of men’s and women’s products will be carried in the L.A. flagship store, including outerwear, snow and moto gear, knits, accessories, a rotating selection of custom motorcycles and a large array of additional third party items from brands like Snow Peak, Kletterwerks and Scout Seattle.
